Year 2 – Exploring the Magnificat Through Art Our Year 2 children have been reflecting on Mary's Magnificat her beautiful song of joy and praise to God. Using soft pastels, the children expressed the themes of joy, light, and gratitude, creating vibrant artwork inspired by Mary's faith and trust in God. Reception have been enjoying a firework-themed week! They explored emotions through the story 'The Quiet Little Firework', used their phonics to describe exciting firework sounds , and practised cutting skills by matching numerals to quantities. Year 1 & 2 Visit to Church Today our Year 1 and 2 children visited Holy Trinity Church to celebrate the Feast of St Martin de Porres, one of our house saints. Father Albert shared stories about St Martin's life his kindness, humility, and love for everyone, especially those in need. Remembrance Assembly & Promoting Peace Today, Reception, Year 1 and 2 came together for a special Remembrance Assembly, taking time to honour those who have given their lives in the service of others. As part of our Catholic Social Teaching, we reflected on the call to be peacemakers to follow Jesus' example of love, forgiveness, and hope in our world today. Our children have begun creating beautiful poppies in preparation for 11th November, each one a small symbol of remembrance and a prayer for peace.
